At the heart of Central Asia, an exceptional tour on the ancient Silk Road. Two weeks to discover Kyrgyzstan, a small country of steppes, lakes and high mountains over 7,000 m, and a one-week incursion into the neighboring Chinese province of Xinjiang, to discover the oasis of Kashgar, between desert and mountains, the purpose of the trip is the base camp of the majestic summit of Mustaga Ata (7546 m). On both sides of the border, the Kyrgyz nomads or Uighur welcome us in their yurts.

Early morning arrival in Bishkek . After resting at the Guest house , discovering the Kyrgyz capital. The city lies at the foot of the chain Alatou the most peaks rising to over 4800 m. Walk over bazaars and parks of the city. Overnight in Guest House.
J3 / – BISHKEK ( 740 m. ) – TYU ASHU – Kekemeren ( 2 000 m. )
Departure from Bishkek to the beautiful valley of the neck Sussamyr Tyu – Ashuu ( 3 586 m). Your 5 hours drive will be greatly rewarded by the sight of the green valley where Sussamyr the early days of spring, come to live with nomadic yurts and herds. Hiking camp gold diggers . J4 / Kekemeren – Song Kul ( 3015 m)
The morning of Day 4 is reserved for an hike along the Kekemeren , super powerful River and turquoise waters that flow into a river canyon ocher . After the picnic transfer to Lake Song Kul by the pass of Karakeche 3 364 m. From the pass splendid view on this lake, at an altitude of 3050m and bordered by the most beautiful pastures of Kyrgyzstan . According nomads who go there with their horses, flock of sheep in summer. Foot descent to the lake. Overnight in yurt
J5 / – SONG KOUL
Day hiking on the ridges overlooking the lake. The view is impressive. Downstream of small white dots , yurts of nomads, this bright green dot what grazing. By late afternoon we bring herds with nomads in their enclosures. Indeed, the wolf is not far nomads take care to bring their animals near the yurt camp . Overnight in yurt
J6 / – SONG Koul
Hiking on the north shore of the lake. We move in different yurt camps to meet the nomads. We share moments with them (treated mares – the famous Koumiss – Oulak Tartish common game in the region or teams compete to bring the carcass of a goat in the camp of the enemy ….. Meeting also with the fishermen of the lake …. Overnight in yurt
J7 / MELS – OBO SYRTH Camp ( 2940 m. )
We leave behind us Song Kul to the south. Off the chain with Bashy At around 5000 m peaks forms the border with China. Descent to the village of Baetov .. We leave the green pastures for a more arid region. Cliffs of ocher earth colors, silvery ….. Overnight homestay
J8 / OBO – SYRTH ( 2940 m. ) – TASH RABAT ( 3050 m)
Transfer ménera us Tash Rabat and caravaséreil dating from the famous Silk Road . The setting is gorgeous, after passing a narrow valley overlooked by beautiful cliffs , marks raptors, the valley opens . Yaks , horses graze . Our yurt camp is nearby.
J9 / – TASH RABAT – Kashgar
We take the road to the pass Torugart 3 752 m. We cross no man ‘s land, trail along the lake Chatyr Kul. Kyrgyz border post is very close. Descent on the Chinese border post , the atmosphere is more ” tense” . Formalities ridges down to the ” oasis prohibited “, the road winds along a dry riverbed . The temperature rises , the area becomes very dry . Kashgar on arrival after spending 4 police stations ! Deserved to our hotel after a day of transfer but so interesting rest. Overnight at hotel .
J10 / KASHGAR
Once there , you can visit the Id Kah mosque , mausoleum Abakh Hodja , the old city and bazaars .
Carpets, jewelery , silks , spices, camels, sheep ….. transport you back several centuries to the Silk Road . The old town, the government decided in 2003 to save new construction, is sumptuous . These narrow streets , the houses of earth terraces are so welcoming and peaceful it will remain etched in your memory. Overnight at hotel
J11 / Kashgar – Karakul lake
Departure for the 3 650m Karakul lake. We borrow the famous Karakorum Highway road cut into the cliff. The scenery is magnificent , we are at the foot of the Kongur mountains including 5 peaks over 7 000 m. Arrival at Lake Karakul lake which reflects the slopes of Mustagata . This snowy mountain over 7,500 m. Hike around the lake in the middle of herds of yaks. Overnight in yurt
J12 / Karakul lake – Base Camp 4 050 m Mustagata
Day hiking to base camp Mustagata . Arid trail climbs steadily towards the camp. We meet occasionally camel caravans . They descend from the camp they have supplied.
Indeed, Mustagata is a very known by its accessibility, but little technical high altitude 7546 m summit. At camp , teams from around the world are preparing for the summit ascent. Down to our yurt. Same as the previous feet Mustagata camp , the view is breathtaking.
J13 / – Karakul – KASHGAR
Transfer to Kashgar , overnight at the hotel in Kashgar .
J14 / – Kashi – TACH RABAT
There will be time to return to Kyrgyzstan with a step caravanserai Tash Rabat on the original route that followed the caravans of yesteryear towards Kashgar . Yurt camp .
J15 / – TASH RABAT (3080 m)
A day hikes (7-8 hours walking ) is scheduled to go to col Karakul ( 3950 m) where we will have a beautiful view of the lake Chatyr Kul. The environment in this massive At Bashy is wild and beautiful .

J16 / – TASH RABAT (3 080 m) – DOLON PASS ( 3 035 m ) – Kochkorka
Transfer to the small town of Naryn or our logistics team will stop to refuel provisions. Few hours drive and stop along the Karakol river near the village of Sarybulac . Overnight homestay
J17 / – Kochkorka ) – ISSYK KOUL (1600 m)
Issyk Kul lake pearl of Kyrgyzstan today is our goal. Swimming program in the afternoon ….. Overnight homestay
J18 / – Issyk Kul Lake ( 1 690 m)
Relaxing day at the lake lssyk Kul , stroll, swim in water above 20 degrees. This lake is the second largest mountain lake in the world after Titicaca in Peru and Bolivia. North , south of summits over 4,500 m. Overnight homestay
J19 / – Issyk KOUL (1 600 m) – Jeti OGUZ ( 2 050m)
Transfer Jety Oguz valley and the peaks of Tien Shan . We skirt Lake Issyk Kul in its southern part , the wildest region.
We pass the ” heart breaks ” at the entrance of the valley, splendid rock mass cut in two. Tent camp in the valley of Jety Oguz amid Edelweiss, we are in an alpine environment. Overnight in yurt
J20 / – Jety OGUZ
You go for a long walk to the Peak Karakol (5100 m) . The valley opens out into the glacier Pic. A flowerbed ( violets, Edelweiss … ) , a small river ….. a real landscape with Switzerland still a peak at over 5000 m ! ! Night in the same camp as yesterday.
J21 / – Jeti OGUZ – Tamshy
Stop in Karakol , the atmosphere of a small Russian town of the nineteenth century. The population is very diverse because there are more than 50 nationalities ! This city is somehow base camp for mountaineers , the starting point for all major expeditions to the Picos renowned Pobeda , Khan Tengry .
Road to Cholpo Ata , Kyrgyz resort ( north shore of Lake Issyk Kul ) . Overnight in Guest house .
J22 – CHOLPO ATA – BISHKEK
Last transfer to join the Kyrgyz capital . Overnight in Guest house .

General Information :
Acomodation:
In Guest House for nights spent in Bishkek . in yurts Tash Rabat , Song Kul , Karakul lake , hotel in Kashgar and tent for the rest.
Kitchen ” outdoor” prepared by your cooked a few meals in the restaurant ( in Bishkek , Naryn , Karakol , Kochkorka , Kashgar ) .

Local guide and his French assistant too.
Hiking :
The program of the visit easy hikes . For those not wishing to make these tours it is possible to stay and wander around the camp or to transfer the vehicle .
Administrative formality :
To get in Kyrgyzstan , you must have a passport valid for 6 months after return date Chinese visa must be obtained before the start of Paris , not need a visa to Kyrgyzstan .
Requirement to have travel insurance repatriation
Personal equipment:
Similar to a stay in mountain equipment. Be careful to have a good sleeping bag comfort – 5 degrees as the nights can be chilly in the mountains .

No vaccinations are compulsory in Kyrgyzstan . Tetanus vaccination is strongly recommended for any outdoor activity .
The organization provides a collective pharmacy provided by UCPA , however we recommend that you take an individual pharmacy including:
– Personal medicine
– A good sunscreen
– A spare pair of glasses for those involved
A small tour to the dentist for a check is not negligible , do not rely on local dentists!
Be careful you will find yourself at altitudes between 2000 and 3900 meters.
Climate:
Predominance of weather ( hot and dry ) summer, the nights are cool enough altitude . Need for a comfortable sleeping bag – 5 degrees.

Euros can be exchanged at all banks and exchange offices in Bishkek .. It is also possible to withdraw money from teller machines ( they are still very few)
