A ride in the Kyrgyz country, a small republic of Central Asia where the horse plays a predominant role in the life of nomads. Kids ride before they can walk !
Crossing a North – South Chuy valley to reach after 10 days touring the heart of Kyrgyzstan Song Kul Lake. We cross passes over 4 000 meters gallop in “jailoo” (pasture) ….. Share the life of nomadic, equestrian games Oulak Tartish, herding horses, cattle, sheep ….. At the end of your stay you will be real “Chaban”, the name given to the rider who keep herds.
J1- Europe – Bishkek
J2 : Bishkek
Arrival in Bishkek early morning. Transfer in our Guest House. Tour in the afternoon in the capital of Kyrgyzstan . Bazaar , museum, parks. Overnight in Guest house .
J3 : Bishkek – Tegety
Morning departure for the small town of Tokmok and Valley Kegety 1h30 -2H road.
Preparation of our hike , making contact with the horses and the team.
First ride of meadows in Kyrgyz . Tent camps .
J4 : Kegety – Kel top Touyouk ( 6 hours riding )
Day in a variety of environments , we move from dense forest to alpine areas much more . We overlook the broad valley Chuy . Valley making border with neighboring Kazakstan . The peaks of the Kyrgyz Alatoo chain and its glaciers are close and culminate in the region to over 4000 meters. Crossing a pass at 3500 meters stop for a picnic at a lake . Down in the afternoon to the throat Touyouk . Night in tents.
J5 : Touyouk – Shamsy (6 hours riding )
Crossing the gorge Touyouk and forests . Upstream yurts of Kyrgyz nomads settled in for the summer. First encounter with this very hospitable people. Visit the yurt, local customs ….. Picnic with the nomads .
A few hours and we reach the valley Shamsy . Overnight in yurt.
J6 : Shamsy – Djailoo of Shamsy (6 hours riding )
Climb to the Shamsy ( 3 570 m). The slope is steep we need can sometimes get off our horses. Splendid view of the valley Kochkorka south , the Chuy Valley in the north, the peaks and glaciers in the west. Descent on the Djailoo ( the Djailoo ets Kyrgyz name given to grazing areas , the grass is very good ) . Overnight in tents near yurt camps .
Day 7: Day of rest Djailoo Shamsy
Rest day in the green pasture Shamsy . Shared with nomadic times. Equestrian Games …..
J8 : Djailoo Kochkorka – Gorge Sook ( 6 hours riding )
We ride in a fantastic location in the middle of the ger camp , herds of horses …. Gradually we leave Djailoo for a more arid area. The pass Boutchouc 3 200 m and down the throat Sook . Night in tents.
J9 : Sook – Kyzart (6 hours riding )
During this day we will passes over 3 000 meters. Summits, glaciers above 4 000 meters around the lake are facing us. We take the same path taken by the Kyrgyz nomads bringing their herds Song Kul. Night in tents.
J10 : Kumbel – Toulek – Touz Bel – Song Kul ( 6-7 hours riding )
It will take us all morning and early afternoon after crossing two passes to reach Lake Song Kul. Song Kul pearl of Kyrgyzstan for the nomadic people . The grass is the best in the country …. The last pass the lake is at our feet, splendid . The yurt camps arranged around Descent to the lake and camp. Night in tents.
J11 -12 : Song Kul
Overlapped for these two days in jailoo Song Kul ( 3040 m ) and upstream on the ridges overlooking the lake.
Dating nomads and fishermen Song Kul. You bring the sheep with nomads in their enclosures where they will spend the night as the wolf in this region is on the lookout for such easy prey ! Nights in tents.
J13 : Song Kul – Kochkorka
Transfer at midday on Kochkorka . Visit bazaar and craft that manufacture the Sherdaks ( Kyrgyz felt carpets ) houses. Overnight homestay .
J14 : Issyk Kul
Issyk Kul starting , the second largest mountain lake in the world surrounded by mountains over 4000 m channels. Bathing , water is more than 20 degrees . Night at the lake .
J15 : Bishkek
Departure for the Boom canyon, Bryce Canyon Kyrgyzstan ( named by local this way) . Hiking in the canyon. Night in our Guest House in Bishkek
J16 : Return flight
Transfer to Manas airport and flight to Europe
The developed program is given as an indication . It may undergo changes or improvements in function of technical, security requirements , climatic conditions of the moment.
In this case, only those responsible for supervision are entitled to take the necessary decisions . However, the guides offer in case of major changes in the program of replacement options.

In Guest House for nights spent in Bishkek . Tent (2 places ) during travel .
Catering:
Kitchen ” outdoor” prepared by your guides with some meals in the restaurant ( in Bishkek , Kochkorka ) . Last meal day in Bishkek at the expense of clients.
Climate:
This trip takes place in mountain , it is expected to warm days but quite cool mountain nights . Need for a comfortable sleeping bag
– 5 degrees .

June to mid-October
Transfers :
2 transfers : 1 – to get to the start of the hike ( 2:30 ) 2 – return to Bishkek end hiking (4h)
Riding:
Day hikes ( 5-6 h) / 10 days hiking on length of stay
Level:
Good Equestrian Masters in nature (5-6 h per day in the saddle ) .
Learn stand 3 paces
Learn seller, trot , gallop group
Physical preparation:
Need to get in good physical shape
It is recommended to saddle up at 2-3 weekend before departure.
Guide:
Local speaking guide and Kyrgyz . Responsible for the logistics of the stewardship
Equipment:
Similar to that used in a raid in France in the Alps equipment .
A large canvas travel bag to put unnecessary business for the day.
1 bag of 20 liters for business day
Sleeping Bags : Comfort -5 degrees
For horse riding breeches , soft pants , boots, raincoat , hat

In nature, it is also more than anywhere else to keep in mind that tolerance and solidarity facilitate cohesion and harmony of the group , guaranteeing the success of the trip.
Formalities:
To get in Kyrgyzstan must have a valid passport (6 months validity ) . Requirement to have travel insurance repatriation
Healthcare / Pharmaceuticals / vaccines :
No vaccinations are compulsory in Kyrgyzstan . Tetanus vaccination is strongly recommended for any outdoor activity .
The organization provides a collective pharmacy , but we recommend you bring an individual pharmacy including:
– Personal medicine
– A good sunscreen
– A spare pair of glasses for those involved
A small tour to the dentist for a check is not negligible , do not rely on local dentists!
Equipment provided by the organization :
Group camping equipment , mattresses provided.
Currency: som (about $ 1 USD = 40 som € = 60 soms )
Provide for personal expenses on site ( about 50 $ 100 us) .
